HI my name is Dan Cassady a longtime customer of your Krogers on saw Mill Road in Dublin suburb of Columbus Ohio I went to your store today with rolled quarters and dimes and Nichols with my name address and phone number written on them I took them to the front customers desk where I was told I had to take them to a third party coin machine where they charged me 9.8% it is a shame you would treat a customer in this way I think you should rethink your policy on rolled coins specially nowadays when times are hard I spend thousands of dollars in your store I remember when I was a kid my mom was able to cash her checks at her grocerie store I don't expect you to do that but when you don't except rolled coins that's a little bit ridiculous when I said something to your manager's about this they said I probably could have took them to the line after the fact I think they were just trying to get rid of me they might have accomplished that thanks long time shopper.

I remember back in 2005 when I was McHomeless in Redding, California. I was sitting in Winchell's Donut House enjoying donuts and Coffee when this older cuckoo looking man came in and started saying something to the young lady working there about "Nichols".

She replied , "Oh, that's Ok, I have enough Nickels already, I don't need any more." And then the old cuckoo looking man sounded frustrated and pointed up to the television on wall and said "No, Nichols! Brian Nichols!" and I looked at the television and they it was on a news story about Brian Nichols, the gunman who went on a shooting rampage and escaped the courtroom"

There are customers behind you, they should not have to wait for you to count your change. No fair keeping them waiting, either use a credit card to pay or get bills for your coins.

USE A BANK

Guest

I had a *** h o l e and his wife come in that expected me to take just under $800 in rolled quarters...on fathers day (a busy day!!!) and give me attitude when I told them I have to count *everything* that goes into my drawer (not to mention, where in the heck was I going to put a bag full of quarters. Rolled change is for the bank, NO WHERE ELSE!

Didn't you learn in primary school that you use loose change when paying, you don't save it up and then wait till you have a ton...

like having a ton of rolled change makes you richer and cooler. If you are that bad at managing and saving money maybe you should take a class or something and get smarter.

You are right they should of opennednup every roll and count the quarters. And if it took them half an hour to count 800 then thats good to.

Get paid 4 dollars for that one customer.

But theyn they get written up for not being fast enough. Win win.

Stores should take cash, either coins or bills. Why do we make coins if the store will not take them.

They still add up to the same amount. Next time just bring them in loose.

I have had the same problem with a bank, they wanted me to place the coins in a manchin which then charged a fee for the bank. Also found out that the machines are not always accurate.

Guest

Hey cohean2 I hope you never find your self in a situation where you can't afford to pay the 9% that the machine charges you. Also I guess your parents neve taught you to have some manners! Also, the problem of nickles put in a quater roll can be solved by weighting the rolled coins.

Guest

hi dan. i work at kroger in the customer care department.

some people i'm not saying you like to take rolled coins and put a quarter on each end of the rolled coins then fill the middle up with nickels, and try to cash them in as a roll of quarters which is $10.00 if you had all nickels in the middle that would only be $2.00 we would be losing $8.00 because someone wants to try and cheat us.

that's why we cannot buy rolled coins and that's why we ask everyone to run them through the coinstar most people are honest but some of them just don't care how much they try to cheat companies like kroger. i hope thjat this helps you to understand why kroger does what we do.

Also it is "nickels" and NOT "nichols". Learn some English.

Krogers is NOT a bank you ***. If you want to cash in your rolled coins either go to a bank like evberyone else in the U.S.

Why should you be given an exception? What makes you so special?

Or don't be a cheap *** and use the coin machine and pay the fee like everyone else. You're no different than or above anyone else..

That's exactly right : no different than : Since when are pennies not currency ? I,m thinking with the punk *** cheap *** comment you,ve never had to struggle.

Sometimes i have to use my pennies that i save thru the month because i,m on disability (MS).

I shouldn't have to feel like i do when i,m treated different (like a bom)when i usey pennies. When i have to to eat..........

Do we care that you struggle and then make the people waiting behind you have a bad day. I hope you keep struggling and never make it, I hope someone beats your ***.
