Kroger offers $100 gift card for 6 stitches
On July 9th, 2016, I was involved in an AMIGO electric shopping cart accident with another shopper. While shopping, the other shopper attempted to squeeze between myself and another shopper with a shopping cart in the same aisle.
As she attempted to squeeze through the bottom metal area of the shopping cart sliced the back heel of my right foot. Management was notified by my son who frantically ran to get help due to the amount of blood that covered the floor. Management was wonderful in assisting with first aid to apply pressure along with disinfecting the area to avoid infection. The store manager apologized and claimed fault.
He then asked for my ID and stated that he was so very sorry and would cover any medical treatment needed. He was very cooperative and supplied all insurance information needed to file the claim and contact info to follow up. The picture and video evidence along with eyewitness accounts from multiple people that were involved clearly shows the accident genuinely occurred and resultant damages. Damages include, medical bills, out-of-pocket expenses for home care of the wound, business missed due to being unable to walk given the area of the wound and more.
After leaving the store, my heel bled through multiple bandages. I decided to go straight to the ER.
I received 6 stitches at the ER and was given instruction to keep my heel elevated for approximately 3 weeks given the area of the wound. They are offering a $100 gift card.
Reason of review: I am being treated unfairly.
Monetary Loss: $4500.
Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.
Kroger Cons: Entire experience.
Location: Dallas, Texas

Sorry for your getting Injured. I think that they should make the shopping carts safer at Kroger so that something like this doesn't happen again. You should be given a one thousand dollar Kroger Gift Card for having to go through all of that, plus they should pay for your medical bills.
What did the other customer that tried to squeeze between that did this to you offer? Why is it the stores fault?
The store wasnโt the one that caused this problem, the customer that sliced your foot was.
If you all had been driving cars it would be the person that caused the incidents liability, I donโt get it, sounds like you want to get paid. Go after the customer pushing the cart, not the store.
Sue the customer, not Kroger!
So what exactly is your complaint here?
Are you serious? You think you are going to get any sympathy from anyone here?
This has nothing to do with Kroger other than it happened in their store. It was another customer who was at fault.
Kroger went above and beyond for you when they really didn't have to. You are a ***.
Are you ***???? It sounds like Kroger handled this with incredible grace and kindness.
What more did you want from them??
They paid your medical costs and even threw a $100 gift card on top and it sounds like they shouldn't have had to even do all that since it wasn't even an employee at fault but in fact another customer. You must be one law suit happy *** waiting for your come up.
kroger did not do it a customer of kroger did it they did not mean to do it and dont sue kroger sue the customer
It seems you should be upset with the shopper that hit you,not Kroger. If the other shopper hit you with their car in the parking lot you would be going after their insurance company. What aren't you going after their insurance company here as well?
Exactly how is Kroger to blame for the way a customer uses their motorized cart?
The customer should be paying the medical bills since the customer and the OP had an accident. Or at least their insurance company.
Kroger did not cause the accident to happen. The customer did.
Three weeks for that?
What do you want Kroger to do?
