I normally am a very satisfied Kroger shopper , I have been a Kroger shopper for over 40 plus years, and normally compliment and not complain, but yesterday , May 27, 2017, I went in to do my weekly shopping and decided at then end of my shopping, I would purchase a new grill..Much to my dismay, when an employee went to look (which took over a 1/2hr) while I continued to wait patiently, at he front of the store, only to have him come back and tell me , they did not have any more. So I asked, well , can I purchase the one that is here, a floor model, and possibly receive a discount, due to last one being a floor model, He stated he would check with his boss, I followed him to the back, where he asked his boss, He stated no, we do not discount anything like that, and I was more than welcome to purchase the floor model, but it would be an additional $20.00 due to that is what they charge for putting them together..I was shocked, and I explained that , not only did I wait a 1/2 hr , but it was the last one a floor model, No, we do not give discounts here.

He then stated he could try to get me one from another store, and he could have it sent to this Kroger, I wanted to purchase it then, not have to wait..Needless to say, I left, upset and no grill purchase. What happened to the new policy, We will make it right ? I am still upset and do not want to have to purchase it somewhere else, as I am a Kroger Shopper, we have Walmart and Shop n Save in our Weirton area, but I love and enjoy shopping at my local Kroger's. Dale was his name, and he did not seem at all bothered by the fact that I was extremely upset and dissatisfied .That was shocking to me, as normally if out of stock, they try to make it right with a different item or discount ..

I shop at Kroger's exclusively and I am still upset over this. Thank you for your valued time , as I feel , as a Kroger Shopper ,something more could have been offered to offset this complaint, that I really did not want to do, but felt compelled to let the company know of. I spend close to $800.00 to $1000.00 a month there and maybe that does not seem like a lot to a huge company as Kroger, but , it is to me, and other grocery stores could benefit from my shopping there. This store is at 100 St.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

Kroger Pros: People who work there, Friendley and courtous.

Kroger Cons: Customer service skills, Manager not trying to resolve the issue.

The best thing you can do is to write a letter to their Corporate Headquarters about this.

Perhaps there is an agreement with the vendor that supplies that grill that states the floor model cannot be discounted.

If that is the case, then your complaint is with the vendor, not Kroger.

Kroger may not want to inform customers of this because then the customer would want to complain to the vendor, and the vendor may not want to receive complaints.
