Verified ReviewerDelivery problems
I am older and high risk, so I have groceries delivered. I placed and order with a 12-1:00 next day delivery reservation.
I got a call that it would be 2:00. Fine. 3:30 and no delivery, no communication. I called, first it takes several minutes to get to delivery, and CS will not give direct number so I don't have to go through multiple steps.
I had to made 5 calls to delivery. Two were disconnected. First I was told the order was ready and waiting for pick up (three calls said this), but they could not given me a delivery time. The order is coming from a Pearland store, 30 minutes or more from me when I have a large Kroger less than a mile away (KIrby and Main).
I asked for the number of the shipper, and was given a number that had been disconnected. I called back and was given the right number. The shipper said they had no time for my delivery since NO DRIVER wants this job. (Why would they accept a less than 10.00 fee for a one hour round trip?) So it seems my order would NEVER be delivered, but no one had communicated to me and Kroger, which had the power to change the origin store, did not do so.
When I relayed this (5th call to Kroger delivery) they told me that in fact my order was NOT ready for pick up. I cancelled the order. I will never use Kroger again for this. I would think that months of practice at this sort of service would have given Kroger time to perfect it.
I have not had this issue with Randalls or HEB.
Why is Kroger assigning this to stores so far from the delivery when there are big, well stocked stores close by? I am sharing my experience on line to warn others.

Verified ReviewerJust bad customer service.
Me and my husband went to the Kroger Pharmacy in Brandenburg KY, for the third time in two weeks because we were called and told that our medicines were ready, they were not. First time a line of 22 people, we left because we couldn't stand in line that long,
Second time drive-thru, we were 6 cars back, after 45 mins.
the #1 car was still there. We left. We got another call saying our meds. were ready.
I called Kroger pharmacy for over an hour, no answer. We decided to go anyway because i had run out of my meds, and needed them. Not ready. I complained and got a mean, nasty hateful responds.
I was told if i had a complaint see management and i did. We were told to come back in about 3 hours.
We live 20 miles away, we 'r 79 years old and have to go thru this. Talk about bad customer service.

Verified ReviewerFalse Info at Kroger.com site
kroger.com permanently shows "Russellville, AR" as the default store site for product inventory and pricing. Only if you sign-in, meaning open an account you may not need or want, OR only if you never clear your cache /browser history will you see your correct store...
Bait and Switch tactic
If one or the other is true, then since around January 28, 2020, you are no longer seeing accurate inventory or pricing info for your own local store.
Kroger.com now opens to a default page claiming "Russellville" (Arkansas, pop. approx 30k) as your "Pickup" store. If you download a preview or weekly ad at that point, you will get the circular for R-ville. Also, anything typed into the product search form will return results only pertinent to that Arkansas store no matter where you actually live and shop.
Moreover, even if you input your own zip code to change store and pull up your local store ad, the "pickup" store will remain as Russellville and still anything typed into the site's product search form will return results only true for that Arkansas location!
We have discovered there can be significant differences between our store flyer prices and what shows up from doing an online search now. Also you can get false results saying an item is "not found" and vice versa when it's not actually the case for your local store.
We have informed Kroger's design team and marketing execs about this new design change for 2020. They have expressed zero interest in returning Kroger.com to displaying a user's true Geo-location like it always had in the past. Their clear intent is forcing every shopper to open an online account, whether they need it or not, and then forcing all users to always be logged into it in order to see accurate data for their local shopping.
It's not just a case of gathering all that initial personal info from consumers (with always a likelihood it can be hacked and stolen), but also they want to have a Big Brother eyeball on every user keystroke, something they can't currently do if you're browsing the site while not logged in.
And remember, to browse at other large retailers -- Amazon.com, Walmart.com or Meijer.com, for e.g. -- you are not required to login to any account you've set up to view accurate local info, because they still display your true Geo-location, which is picked up automatically from your laptop or other device.
Until Kroger.com returns to showing our local store information, we are taking more of our shopping dollars to Aldi's and Meijer stores. Let them know how user UNfriendly, coercive and cumbersome this new policy is for consumers, and maybe they'll revert to doing the right thing by us.
