Ya lead by example | Kroger review

Several times in the past 3 months, Ive stopped at the Kroger in Towne Lake Parkway in Woodstock Ga, and it seems to be a regular trending thing to hear or see the older gray haired female manager talking to the employees like dogs. The funny thing about this is that its usually the younger kids, who probably seem to be easier targets because theyre less likely to rebutt this verbal abuse. One such example would be a recent Friday evening and the store was very busy. There were only a handful of shopping carts inside and a young man and also a female employee..both teenagers, were both outside...in the rain...pushing the carts inside as fast as they could. This so called manager went out of her way to literally YELL at both these kids and tell them they were taking too long and she had 'timed them' and they needed to hurry up. Speaking as someone on the outside looking in, Id suggest instead of...in FRONT of the customers....yelling at them...another idea would be to get her *** out there and lend a hand. I expect this at Walmart but not Kroger.

Kroger has a union that will not allow managers to help us. It is to protect employees hours, but it really just prevents teamwork.

They can stand there and watch employees bust their butts and if they help they risk a grievance being filed.

Do you by any chance know how long they had been out there? It could be that the manager had seen them horsing around out in the parking lot. Also if you had been a customer that had a problem, and wanted to speak to the manager and she was outside fetching shopping carts, you would have complained about that too.

Mr. Jack LaRose | Kroger review from Lawrenceville, Georgia

Kroger does not support our combat veterans. This company refused to provide our veterans with a special order for protein bars. They had done so in the past but new management was very negative. As the "veteran go between", they have lost my business. The real damage has been done to the moral of our troops who came to expect a little something from home. I agree with the previous comment. Our troops morale is shattered because they don't get a protein bar? :cry

Are you talking about Veterans or active duty deployed troops? I can see giving to the active duty deployed troops, but I don't know why Veterans would need these or even be led to expect something.

Granted the Vets have served the country, but it's over and done with, it is time to get on with life.

I am 72 years old and don't ever remember so much to-do about active duty troops, or vets, from previous wars.

Flu Shot | Kroger review from Louisville, Kentucky

I went it to the pharmacy to get my first ever flu shot, I am 72. They were very nice and professional. I go to the Oldham County Senior Center and we had a speaker one day and through that I find there is a regular flu shot and a senior flu shot. I did not know that. I checked with the Kroger store and found I had received the regular shot, not a shot for seniors. When I called the store they were sorry but to get another shot I would be required to pay full price. That seems unfair for it to cost me extra when the employees did dot do their job correctly and at least tell me the difference and allow me to make the choice.

We did have a few High Dose flu shots...and you can only give them to seniors...however the CDC is not recommending them atthis time. We did run out of them quickly as they were in a limited supply.

There is no proof that they are better than the normal flu shot. There is a possiblity that they may result in higher antibody titers.

I am a pharmacy tech and have never heard of a different flu shot for seniors. Are you sure you heard that right? This year we only had one flu shot, so I have no idea what you mean by a different shot for seniors.

LadyScot if you are maintaining CAO it manages most of the holes. You stated in a previous post you were a pharm tech if that is the case you don't have much to do with ordering in the OTC section.

Rude Manager Cussed at me and didn't help | Kroger review from Houston, Texas

I asked the manager Meka Hunts for help. She said to find it myself. When I replied with "are you serious," she said "yeah." She was very unprofessional and rude and treated the other employees she worked with with disrespect. I am very angry at what she did. I had been going to that Kroger (the one on Treachswig and Cypresswood) for years and now I am not anymore. She was so rude and ruined this stores reputation. I cannot stand what she did. I am furious. I am so angry that I felt the need to put a complaint about her. I don't see how she became a manager being all rude, ghetto and unprofessional. I thought customer service was Kroger's specialty. She did not show it one bit. She was actually the complete opposite.

It's funny you should say that, Ernest. I actually did have customers mad at me on two separate occassions because I was busy assisting with an emergency situation and couldn't drop what I was doing to help them.

In one case, an associate had fainted and hit her head at the Service Center, and the customer actually asked how long it was going to take to get to his transaction. Another time an older lady fainted in line, and I had to get a chair for her to sit in, and a cutomer complained that he had to wait in line for 3 minutes.

i have worked in the grocery business for 29 years. they have been telling the customer is always right....

which is ***. this story is another example of the entire story not being told. what was the real reason you were told to find it yourself? maybe because you asked when this employee was trying to render first aid to someone?

seriously, i have been witness to that happening.... and more then one time.

Welcome to the world of affirmitive action. This kind of behavior is becoming the norm and they know they can get away with it. This country is going to *** in a hand basket because of a bunch of PC ***.

As soon as I read the first sentence I knew that you would play the race card. They do not owe you a thing.

They hired someone else because they felt they were better qualified for the job, not because of skin color. Anonymous they are referring to race because they assume that is the reason they were not hired. They think they were more qualified for the job than others and they were denied the job because of their race.

They cannot stand to think that the person that was hired had better qualifications than they did so they make it a race issue by playing the race card. Good thing they did not hire her, every time she did something wrong and was disciplined for it like everyone else would be she would play the race card.

Neapolitan Ice Cream | Kroger review from Nashville, Tennessee

I bought a tub of neapolitan ice cream. The flavors were swirled together. i thought it was just a fluke. Bought another one same thing. So I checked the bottom of the tubs and the ice cream looked fine. On the 3rd and 4th tub still the same thing. Now I am not a happy camper. I have been throwing at least half the tub away cause it is all mixed up. Went to Piggly Wiggly bought the same tub of ice cream and guess what? The flavors were not mixed up. I buy all my groceries from Krogers. So is the ice cream being made that way? Dottie Parton ph # 615-977-9877 1944 Porter Road, Nashville Tennessee 37206N
